Friday Clay Session at Caitlin's studio

Caitlin Moloney · Coromandel Town

Friday Clay Sessions

The workshop follows a loose monthly cycle, so our making and firing can stay roughly in sync. These sessions are a chance for me to share what I know, and for us to build a small community that meets over clay.

Beginners are very welcome — and if you've worked with clay before, there's always more to explore.

Where to Find Me

My home studio 23 Colville Road, Coromandel Town

What to Expect

  • Start time: 10am sharp, we'll begin with a cuppa and a brief introduction to the day's lesson.
  • We run through to 2:00pm, with plenty of time to work at your own pace.
  • Tea and coffee provided throughout the day.
  • Please bring your own lunch — we take a relaxed break together around midday. There is a gas stove available to heat food.

Costs

$25 per person

This covers your place in the workshop and 800g of clay. Extra clay and ceramic stain or glaze materials are an additional cost.

If you'd like, you're welcome to purchase your own bag of clay from the shop at Driving Creek Railway and Potteries to bring along.

On the day, if you need more clay than what's provided, you can purchase extra from me for $7.50 per kilogram.

Firing costs are separate and charged per piece, based on size.

Please take responsibility for your own materials. Bring a small box to store your work, clay, and any extras — and one plastic bag to wrap any pieces you'd like to continue the following week. Thick garbage bags work well cut open and used as wrapping.

Payment

Cash on the day, or bank deposit before your session.
